Where East meets West
A kitchen where tradition inspires contemporary life
My clients for the renovation of this kitchen are a Romanian-Belgian couple.
Nicoleta loves vibrant colors and is an avid collector of traditional Romanian jugs and plates.
For this design, I was inspired by La Blouse Roumaine, a series of artworks by Henri Matisse. His fascination with Eastern European motifs was sparked by his friendship with the Romanian painter Theodor Pallady; where East meets West.
The work of Romanian artist Constantin Brancusi also inspired me. His quest for the essence, translated into pure lines and elemental forms, aligns perfectly with my design approach.
In this kitchen, colorful folk art and restrained contemporary design come together. A dynamic interplay between East and West.
